7/14/25: Bad Doctor Tests, GHEE, Sauna Benefits

When you go to the doctor, it’s easy to assume they’re giving you the full truth about your health. But the reality is: most standard checkups are just checking boxes. They weigh you — but don’t measure your body composition. They test your total cholesterol — but not your lipoprotein(a), which is a much stronger marker for cardiovascular risk. They’ll never test your VO₂ max or grip strength — two of the most powerful indicators of all-cause mortality.

What they’re measuring isn’t wrong — it’s just incomplete. Traditional health care isn’t designed for optimizing health it’s designed for managing symptoms. The consequence is you end up thinking you’re “healthy” when you’re actually not, or you think you’ve got issues when you’re actually making progress in ways that matter. And without the full picture, there’s no shot at meaningful, individualized advice — just symptom management and prescriptions.

Here’s the hard truth: you have to take responsibility for your own health. If you don’t and instead decide to abdicate that responsibility, you’ll likely end up like the rest of our society who has chosen that path: sick.

Ghee — It’s butter, leveled up. Higher smoke point, better taste, and easier on digestion. Use it for cooking, but go with the organic and grass-fed option.
Want a “prescription” that reduces risk of death, improves brain health, increases endurance, reduces blood pressure, and helps you sleep better? It’s called the sauna.
