Current Thoughts
The recent flood in Nepal combined with the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks got me thinking about life or death situations where you physical fitness determines whether you live or die. Of course, you can’t control what mother nature throws at you nor can you control if a terrorist flys a plane into your building. Since you can’t control it, it’s not worth stressing over. But you can control whether or not your physical capable of running down 80 flights of stairs without needing a break.
There’s a misnomer that in that situation, adrenaline will you get through it. Luckily we’ve got plenty of stories from the towers combined with the internet full of ring cams, body cams, and cell phone coverage to prove that’s not the case. You don’t rise to your circumstances, you fall to your training. So train hard, your life depends on it.
Things I Like
“I regret to inform you that if you’re unhappy with your life and don’t know where to start, the answer is your body. Move it. Feed it real food. Sleep enough. Walk more than you think you need to. Once your body’s in order, your brain gets going.”-Jonathan Goodman
