TML: Peptides Are Overhyped, Design is Greater Than Discipline, Good Sex=Good Health

Harder to kill. That is the outcome of effective training. The two things that lower mortality risk the most are strength and cardiovascular fitness. While smoking increases your risk of all causes of death by 50%, being weak compared to being strong increases it by 250% and being in poor cardiovascular fitness compared to great cardiovascular fitness increases it by 400%. So harder to kill doesn’t just refer to being harder to kill by other humans (though being stronger and more fit surely helps), it also means harder to kill by cancer, heart disease, neurodegeneration and essentially every other cause of death.

Peptides are all the rage lately, and for good reason. They bring a lot to the table with regards to health benefits. But those benefits pail in comparison to the benefits of exercise.

Are you taking peptides but working out less than 5 days a week? Then you’re missing the point and easier to kill.

There are no magic wands that you get to take that release you from the requirement of disciplined hard work in the gym

Creatine. Protein. Testosterone. Hormones. BPC-157. Growth Hormone. GLP Drugs

All of these are beneficial in addition to training in the sense that they increase the impact of or the recovery from training. They do not replace it.

This is the test I would put anyone through to determine whether they should pursue peptides or not: if they excite you because you see how they will help you trainer more, harder, and better then you’re on the right path. Otherwise, you’re looking for a magic wand that isn’t going to be quite as magical as you think.

Things to Check Out

Sex is like the canary in the coal mine for health. A strong libido, normal sexual function, fertility, and regular sexual activity (in appropriate relationships) throughout life is a sign of good health across multiple factors. When one or many of these start to decrease, its usually is a window into underlying health problems.
