The first step of Alcoholics Anonymous is admitting you have a problem.

That same principle applies to your health. You can’t fix what you won’t face. And for many of us, the hardest part isn’t the workouts, the meal prep, or even the discipline — it’s the self-awareness.

We like to think of ourselves as exceptions. “I know what I’m doing.” “I’ll get serious next month.” “I’m not that unhealthy.” But behind those thoughts are very human defaults: we chase novelty, quit when it’s hard, and prioritize now over later.

Biology wired us that way. It helped us survive when food was scarce and danger was near. But in today’s world, it traps us in cycles of poor health, low energy, and physical limitations.

The first step is recognition. The second is reaching for help — a coach, a plan, a community. Hopefully, you won’t wait until the consequences pile up. Awareness now beats regret later.

Frozen veggies.

My wife and I prep a week’s worth of lunches and dinners in under 45 minutes — and frozen vegetables are our secret weapon. While the meat and carbs cook, we portion frozen veggies directly into our containers. No chopping, no sautéing, no extra cook time.

They’re cheap, nutrient-dense, and microwave-friendly. Once everything’s prepped and frozen, we just reheat and eat. It’s simple, efficient, and takes away a big barrier to healthy eating: time.

888 push up in a row from this kid. Impressive
