Current Thoughts
| The new year is right around the corner and with it, New Year’s resolutions. For clarity, I’m pro resolutions. Personal growth is a worthy pursuit, one you should be after till your final breath. Weight loss and/or improving one’s fitness are the surface level goals of self control and proper stewardship of one’s body. If this previous year was one in which those pursuits were not enhanced, then you should focus on them in 2026. Just don’t write down weight loss as your goal. Weight loss is a down stream result of upstream activities. Focusing on the down stream, instead of the upstream is a recipe for failure where as developing the upstream habits will benefit you for life and ultimately lead you to your weight loss goal. Here are my suggested New Year Resolution goals: Workout once a week with the most fit person you know. You don’t have to do the exact same thing they do but spending more time around them will begin to pull you in that direction as well. Meal prep at least 3 meals a week with a whole food protein, carb, healthy fat, and vegetable. The goal here is to develop a better connection with what you eat and develop the skills to provide healthy food for yourself. Even if it’s only 3 meals a day, you’ll become more aware of the choices you’re making outside of those meals. Track your sleep and screen time every day. Put a calendar on your fridge or mirror and every day write on it the amount of time you spend on a screen vs the amount of sleep you got. Building awareness around your sleep habits will show you where your priorities actual are vs what you say they are. |

A recent update on X (formerly Twitter) revealed that many prominent US political commentators were actually based outside of the US. It’s helpful to take in content with the understanding that unless it’s a direct post from someone you personally know, it’s probably created by AI, a bot, and/or a foreign actor. Consume wisely.
