1/6/25 A New Year Change In Perspective

It’s the New Year and with it, all the commentary on resolutions. I’m not going to give you advice for resolutions. Some people love them, some people hate them. The choice is yours.

I do have an idea for you though. I believe that growth is valuable and that there are helpful periods of time to focus on different growth that you and those around you would appreciate taking place: a year is one of those periods.

Growth rarely happens by brute force though, at least not in adults. It comes over time through exposure and consideration. So, I suggest a growth goal of more exposure and consideration in the New Year through spending time around people that force you to grow.

Having trouble finding or breaking into those circles? Do it through reading, through biographies. Spend time exposing yourself to the life and thoughts of someone you look up.

I guess I am giving you New Years resolution advice: read at least one biography this year.

Sitting down for long periods of time makes my body feel terrible. I need to move in and out of different positions. Unfortunately, getting work done doesn’t always make that easy. I’ve been using a chair similar to this one for about a month and it helps me fidget, stretch, and feel a lot better when I have to sit down for long periods of time.

Want to know the impact of social media and smart phones on developing youth? This books dives into exactly that. Even better, it tells you what you can do to protect yourself and your kids. I highly recommend it.

I hope you have an amazing week!
