Who Should Do NBS?
NBS is for people who aren’t satisfied with being “good,” but want to be great instead. It’s for those seeking more from their bodies and minds. Gender, age, weight, abilities—these variables don’t matter. NBS is for anyone who’s ready to step out and make changes. Is this you? Let’s make it happen.

What is NBS?

What is the meaning of NBS? The best things in life aren’t free — they require payment in determination, perseverance and commitment.
I developed NBS training with the understanding that fitness is much more than calories on a treadmill, the latest celebrity fad or hours logged at the gym. True fitness is lifelong dedication to active change and improvement. It’s the acknowledgment that lessons learned in the weight room translate directly to the game of life. The meaning of NBS is different for every individual. For some, it is accountability. For others, it is guidance. For others, it is competition. Here’s what I know: Give it what you’ve got, and NBS will empower you.

Love, Commitment, Pain, and Sacrifice
EliteFTS Version of the Article What is love? That same question was posed by the musical artist Haddaway in 1993. I’m not sure what his definition is but, to me, it is quite simple. Love is what you talk about, what you think about, what you spend your time on, what you spend your money ... -

Batting A Thousand: Goal Reaching
Have you ever heard the phrase, “Aim for the moon and if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”? Well, that’s a pretty stupid phrase, especially if you’re an astronaut. I don’t agree with setting goals, only reaching them. The fitness realm is rife with bullshit goal setting. I am sure... -

Band Pull Apart Super Series for Shoulder Health
EliteFTS Version of Article One of the biggest issues we face at our gym is shoulder health. This is because we have a lot of personal training clients who have spent the majority of their lives hunched over a desk with anteriorly rotated shoulders, and we have a lot of power lifters who bench... -

Simple, Strong, and Passionate
Do not take this as me telling you how to live your life. I’m 26, not married, and don’t have any kids. For most people, that’s enough of an excuse to disregard anything I might say. But if you’re in the same boat as me or open minded enough to listen to what I have ... -

The Importance of an Athletic Developmental System

When referring to higher training, I do not mean a higher intensity necessarily (although that is... -

Operational Comfort Zone
We’ve all heard, said, or been told the phrase “You can do it!”. But is that phrase really fair? I mean, is it fair to place that type of responsibility on somebody? You see, by inferring that somebody “can” do something you are also inferring that they can “not” do something, and... -

What are you looking at?
At church this morning, the pastor asked why rear view mirrors aren’t the same size as windshields. The reason is because you are not supposed to spend time gazing at the past. It is to be glanced at to give you direction in your pursuit of the future. Many times in the fitness world, people ... -

Accumulation and Accommodation
I usually will get an idea for an article and begin writing it before thinking of another article idea and starting to write on that one as well. What ends up happening is I get several articles already started on my computer so when it’s time for a newsletter I can just choose one that ...
